Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today announced the completion of a $118 million expansion and retooling project for commercial vehicle (CV) production at Nissan’s Canton plant. Production trials will begin next month on the NV, the first entry in the company’s new Nissan CV lineup in the United States and Canada.

As Nissan finalizes plans to bring its first production commercial vehicle (CV) to the North American market in late 2010, it is starting with a truly ground up design – from its rugged ladder frame to the roof rack mounting brackets on the top of the innovatively conceived and styled body. Yet the all-new Nissan NV (Nissan Van) also has the advantage of Nissan’s exceptional commercial vehicle heritage, covering 75 years and more than 75 percent of the global CV market.

Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today unveiled the all-new Nissan NV, the first entry in the company’s new Nissan Commercial Vehicle lineup in North America, at the National Truck Equipment Association’s (NTEA) annual Work Truck Show. During the press conference and live Web cast, Nissan Americas Chairman Carlos Tavares and Joe Castelli, vice president, Nissan Commercial Vehicles and Fleet, provided details on Nissan’s commercial vehicle strategy in North America and offered the first look at the Nissan NV line of commercial vans.
